Description
Convology XT is a convolution reverb by Impulse Record and Wave Arts that brings sampled vintage reverb hardware and acoustic spaces into a compatible audio workstation. It includes 74 factory impulse responses, while additional libraries are sold separately.
A browser lets you step through responses while audio plays, making it practical to compare spaces in the context of a mix. You can also load your own WAV or AIF impulse responses and organize favorite directories.
The editing controls go beyond choosing a room: stretch and decay scaling change the tail, while EQ, reverse and an amplitude envelope reshape the response. Modulation and true stereo support offer further options for creating movement and width from compatible impulse files.
For a vocal, drum or instrument bus, the factory collection provides a starting point for exploring the character of sampled reverbs without assembling a separate library first. Low-latency and zero-latency modes give users options for working in different sessions.
The plugin is available for Windows and macOS in several host formats and requires a compatible host. Although the plugin and factory responses are free, registration with a free serial is required; Wave Arts says a serial can be requested with a name and email address.
