Description
Oberom is a SampleScience ROMpler that recreates the 16 presets from Land of Cockaigne's older Oberon virtual analog instrument. Its sound is aimed at broad, vintage-flavored polysynth parts, with the original source's thick two-pole dual-filter character making it a natural fit for synthwave, synth-pop, vaporwave, and other 1980s-informed electronic work.
Rather than presenting a blank oscillator-and-modulation canvas, Oberom starts with a compact collection of sampled sounds and lets you shape them for a part. The interface combines amplitude ADSR control, a multi-LFO, multi-filter, reverb, glide, and polyphonic, monophonic, and legato voice modes, so a preset can move from a stable chord layer to a more animated lead or bass role.
That focused design is useful when you want an old-school color quickly instead of spending time building an entire analog patch from scratch. The 16-program scope also keeps browsing simple: choose an Oberon-derived starting sound, refine its envelope, movement, filtering, and space, then record it into the arrangement.
SampleScience's current official product page identifies Oberom as permanently available, while its creator-controlled Gumroad page offers the Windows and macOS plugin options at $0+. The current Gumroad route also includes a separate Reason ReFill option for Reason 12 or Reason+ users.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Oberom based on?
Oberom is a SampleScience ROMpler built from the 16 original sounds of Oberon, an older virtual analog instrument by Land of Cockaigne. SampleScience positions its two-pole dual-filter character toward vintage analog-style electronic sounds.
Can I shape the Oberom presets?
Yes. The official feature list includes amplitude ADSR, a multi-LFO, multi-filter, reverb, glide, and polyphonic, monophonic, and legato voice modes. Those controls let you alter the response and movement of the sampled source sounds without treating Oberom as a full blank-slate synth.
Is there a Reason version of Oberom?
Yes. The official page lists a separate ReFill edition for Reason 12 and Reason+. It contains 16 combinators with retro-style effects and extra sound design that the standard plug-in edition does not include.
How does the current download work?
SampleScience routes the product through its creator-controlled Gumroad page, where the Windows/macOS plug-in choices are listed at $0+. Gumroad handles the selection and checkout/delivery flow, so the external page is the appropriate place to choose the current build.
