Flechtwerk is a macro synthesizer built around the Mutable Instruments Plaits engine, packaged as a streamlined plugin for fast sound design. Instead of asking you to patch a full modular system, it gives you 24 synthesis engines and three main macro controls for shaping each voice.
The appeal is immediacy: Harmonics, Timbre, and Morph can move from FM tones and additive colors to granular, modal, physical modeling, speech, and drum-like textures without switching instruments. Envelope modulation, a low-pass gate, transpose control, and alternate output modes add enough movement to make the simple panel feel deeper than it first appears.
