Description
REGENT is a master clipper plug-in from AZPEX Audio for shaping peaks, preserving a parallel dry path, and setting final-stage level independently. Its signal flow separates input drive, transfer-curve choice, processed-output trim, and dry/wet blend, so pushing into the clipper does not also force an output-level change.
Three curve modes cover broad Soft clipping, a tighter Solid response, and an abrupt Hard clamp. CHARACTER adjusts the Soft and Solid responses while leaving Hard deliberately fixed, which makes it practical to move from gentler peak rounding toward firmer edge and density without changing the rest of the setup.
ADAA anti-aliasing remains active at 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x processing rates. Stereo peak meters, a rolling three-second short-term LUFS display, post-output waveform history, and a live transfer display provide feedback for mastering, drum-bus, and individual-track decisions.
The aligned mix control delays the dry branch by the same fixed eight samples as the processed path, avoiding a timing mismatch in parallel use. REGENT is supplied for Windows and macOS hosts in VST3 and AU formats through the developer's official product page.
