Key Features

  • Processes lows, mids, and highs with independent detection and timing, combining downward peak control with upward detail recovery.
  • ADAPT reacts when one frequency region stands out, helping the three bands work together without a full manual compressor setup.
  • Four mode choices cover restrained mix glue, faster drum response, denser pre-limiter control, and heavier wide-knee compression.
  • Spectrum-based, draggable crossovers and individual dynamics meters provide a clear view of band placement and gain activity.
  • Instrument or Mix Bus operation, Peak/RMS/Loudness detection, stereo link, feedforward/feedback blend, and inverse I/O linking support more detailed shaping.
  • COLOR and WARMTH add tonal options, while K-weighted auto gain and the latency-aligned PROCESS switch support level-matched comparisons.
  • Twelve factory presets and portable .gc3bpreset files offer quick starting points for mix bus, drums, bass, vocals, and keys.

Description

GLUECOMP-3B is a three-band dynamics plug-in that keeps lows, mids, and highs under control without requiring a conventional per-band compressor setup. Its ADAPT control coordinates the bands as the balance of a track changes, while four modes move from subtle mix cohesion to firmer, more obvious control.

The processor combines downward compression for peaks with upward compression for quieter detail in every band. Draggable crossover points, a spectrum view, and dedicated dynamics meters make it easier to see where the bands meet and how hard each one is working.

Transparent mode is aimed at gentle bus work, Punchy responds faster for drums, Loud builds density ahead of a limiter, and Aggressive uses a wider knee for stronger restraint. Instrument and Mix Bus detection choices, Peak/RMS/Loudness detection, stereo link, feedforward/feedback blending, and 2x or 4x oversampling provide more depth when the source needs it.

COLOR can add console-inspired body and harmonics, while WARMTH steers the balance toward a darker, softer character. GLUECOMP-3B includes twelve factory presets for mix bus, drums, bass, vocals, and keys, and arrives as AU and VST3 for macOS plus VST3 for Windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the ADAPT control do in GLUECOMP-3B?

ADAPT controls how strongly the compressor reacts when one of the three bands starts to stand out. It is designed to help the low, mid, and high bands respond together without having to build a conventional multiband setup from scratch.

Which mode should I start with?

Transparent is the developer's gentle starting point for a mix that needs cohesion, while Punchy is intended for drums and material that should preserve attack. Loud applies stronger compression before a final limiter, and Aggressive is the wider-knee option for more deliberate control.

Can GLUECOMP-3B be used on individual tracks as well as the mix bus?

Yes. DYMAI Sound positions it for single tracks, drum buses, and whole mixes, and includes Instrument and Mix Bus detector modes. The factory presets also cover drums, bass, vocals, keys, and mix-bus use.

What tonal controls does it include?

COLOR adds console-inspired body and harmonics, while WARMTH moves the balance toward a darker, softer result. The processor also includes a spectrum display, adjustable crossover points, K-weighted auto gain, and a latency-aligned processed/dry comparison switch.
