Description

Andes JX is a free, open-source polyphonic subtractive synthesizer from NoiseRoom UIO in Quito, Ecuador. Its familiar two-oscillator architecture is framed through an Andean visual identity, with a slate-blue interface and 33 factory presets named after locations across the Ecuadorian Andes.

The synthesis engine uses two PolyBLEP anti-aliased oscillators with sine, saw, square, triangle, and PWM waveforms, plus noise and a continuous oscillator mix. A switchable filter section lets you choose between a topology-preserving state-variable filter and a nonlinear Moog-style ladder filter for cleaner multimode shaping or a more saturated resonant response.

Independent amplitude and filter ADSR envelopes, a global LFO, key tracking, velocity sensitivity, stereo width, glide, and mono or poly voice modes cover the essentials without turning the interface into a large modular system. The engine supports up to 16 voices and uses 2x oversampling.
