Key Features

  • Delivers 41 VCV Rack modules in a single VultModulesFree package, covering voices, processing, control, and patch utility work.
  • Provides smooth, analog, complex, and FM-oriented oscillator options for everything from conventional tones to unstable or experimental sources.
  • Includes dedicated drum and percussion voices plus envelope tools for creating synthesized rhythmic patches inside Rack.
  • Offers a broad filter palette with ladder, diode-ladder, Sallen-Key, Steiner-Parker, acid, state-variable, comb, and DJ-style designs.
  • Adds character processing through wave destruction, waveshaping, chorus, stereo send/return, and a flip-flop octaver.
  • Supplies control-voltage building blocks including a quad voltage processor, modulation/macro mixer, active buffer, test signal, noise, and chaos source.
  • Installs through VCV Rack's Library workflow on Windows, macOS, and Linux when the Rack major version matches the plugin version.

Description

Vult Modules Free is a 41-module collection for building virtual Eurorack patches inside VCV Rack. It combines sound sources, filters, modulation, processing, drum voices, and practical utilities in one author-maintained package, so a Rack user can move from a basic voice to a more complete patch without leaving the Vult ecosystem.

The current collection includes analog and smooth oscillators, complex oscillator voices, FM operators, a drum synthesizer, and dedicated percussion modules. Its tone-shaping side spans ladder, diode-ladder, Sallen-Key, Steiner-Parker, acid, state-variable, comb, and DJ-style filters, alongside waveshaping, wave destruction, chorus, and stereo send/return tools.

Control-oriented modules round out the package with a quad voltage processor, attenuation and macro mixing, envelope and drum-envelope generators, buffers, test signals, chaos/noise sources, and a flip-flop octaver. That breadth makes the set particularly useful for experimental subtractive, acid, percussion, and modulation-heavy modular work.

This is not an independent VST or Audio Unit instrument: it runs as a module package within VCV Rack. Vult's current developer pages direct users to its official VCV Rack Library listing, which marks Vult Modules Free as Freeware and provides the account-based installation route for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install Vult Modules Free?

Install VCV Rack, register for a VCV account, and sign in through Rack's Library menu. Add Vult Modules Free in the VCV Library, run Update all in Rack if needed, and restart Rack before adding the modules to a patch.

Is this a VST or Audio Unit plug-in for a DAW?

No. Vult Modules Free is a package for the VCV Rack modular-synthesis environment, not a self-contained VST or Audio Unit instrument. Use it inside a compatible installation of VCV Rack.

What kinds of Vult modules are included?

The collection includes oscillators, synth voices, drum modules, filters, distortion and waveshaping, effects, envelopes, mixers, voltage processors, noise and chaos generators, and utility modules. The VCV Library currently lists 41 modules in the package.

Which operating systems can use the package?

VCV states that Library plugins are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The major version of VCV Rack and the plugin must match, so a Rack 2 installation uses 2.x plugin builds.
