Key Features

  • Six drum lanes can independently use a synthesized 808-style voice or a sample player.
  • Tune and decay controls extend across most voices, with dedicated tone controls and snare snap where applicable.
  • Load WAV, AIFF, or FLAC samples up to 30 seconds long, or start from four included sample sets.
  • Use 16 or 32 steps with per-step velocity and decay, plus swing and adjustable step speed.
  • Set a different one-to-32-step pattern length for each lane and generate rhythms with Euclidean controls.
  • Shape sounds with per-track distortion and reverb sends, then use the master low-pass filter, compressor, and limiter.
  • Save kits and patterns in presets and DAW projects; 48 presets cover electronic and beat-driven styles.

Description

UN/T-01 is a six-track drum-machine instrument that combines synthesized 808-style voices with sample playback on every track. It lets you switch each BD, SD, HH, PERC, TOM, or CY lane between its synth engine and a supplied or user-loaded sample, then build patterns without leaving the plug-in.

The synth side expands the original-style voice concept with wider tuning and decay control, hi-hat tone, snare snap, velocity per step, swing, and built-in distortion and reverb sends. A master low-pass filter, compressor, and brickwall limiter provide basic shaping before the individual tracks leave the instrument.

For sample-based kits, UN/T-01 includes Slam, Cushion, Grime, and Session sets, and accepts WAV, AIFF, or FLAC files up to 30 seconds long. Its six lanes retain their own synth/sample choice, so a pattern can pair an electronic kick or snare with personalized percussion, hats, toms, or cymbals.

The internal sequencer offers 16 steps or 32 steps across two pages, along with per-step velocity and decay. Independent track lengths from one to 32 steps, Euclidean rhythm controls, swing, step speed, copy/paste, and selective randomization support patterns that can repeat cleanly or move against one another.

UN/T-01 ships as a desktop VST3, AU, CLAP, and standalone instrument, with multi-output support where the plug-in format provides it. Its 48 presets range from an initial 808 kit to genre-oriented starting points for electro, Miami bass, boom bap, trap, house, techno, UK garage, amapiano, and drum & bass.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can UN/T-01 use my own drum samples?

Yes. Each of the six tracks has a SYNTH / SAMPLE switch and can load a WAV, AIFF, or FLAC file up to 30 seconds long. The chosen sample is saved with the kit and pattern in a preset or DAW project.

How does the sequencer handle different pattern lengths?

Each track can have its own length from one to 32 steps. This polymetric setup lets lanes drift against each other before they meet again, while the global pattern can use swing and step-speed controls.

Does UN/T-01 include multiple audio outputs?

Yes, the developer lists a separate output for every track in VST3, CLAP, and AU. That makes it possible to process the drum lanes individually in a compatible DAW.

Which systems and plug-in formats does UN/T-01 support?

On Mac it is available as VST3, AU, CLAP, and a standalone app for macOS 12 or later on Apple silicon and Intel. On 64-bit Windows it is available as VST3, CLAP, and a standalone app.
