Description
Thru-Zero E-Piano is an electric-piano instrument from OSC Audio that combines sampled analog-oscillator material with through-zero FM and warm analog saturation. It is voiced around the struck-tine attack and sustained tone-bar character associated with classic electric pianos.
OSC Audio uses its SSF Zero Point Oscillator for the bell-like tine component, allowing frequency modulation without the pitch drift associated with ordinary analog oscillators. A filtered analog VCO supplies the tone-bar layer, and the instrument includes a complete 88-key set of samples looped for sustained notes.
The product is available as a standalone instrument and in VST2, VST3, and AU formats. OSC Audio also states that the source samples are included and named for use with another sampler if you prefer to build your own instrument.
