Key Features

  • Real-time waveform and spectrum displays show how filter, envelope, oscillator, and LFO changes affect the sound.
  • Two PolyBLEP oscillators plus noise cover the basic building blocks of subtractive synthesis.
  • Resonant filter modes include 12 dB and 24 dB low-pass behavior plus 12 dB high-pass shaping.
  • Separate amp and filter envelopes help teach the difference between loudness movement and tonal movement.
  • One LFO can target pitch, filter cutoff, or amplitude, with host-synced rates for rhythmic motion.
  • Mono and poly modes support both single-note lines and chord-based patches.
  • Factory preset categories include Bass, Lead, Pad, Pluck, Keys, and FX, with teaching notes for learning by deconstructing patches.

Description

Synthimatic by Piruz Labs is a visual subtractive synth built to make basic synthesis easier to understand while still working as a playable instrument. The interface shows the waveform and spectrum in real time as you shape oscillators, noise, filter movement, envelopes, and LFO modulation.

The core signal path is intentionally classic: two PolyBLEP oscillators and a noise source feed a mixer, then a resonant filter, an amplifier envelope, and the output. That makes it useful for learning how common synth controls change the sound without opening a dense modulation environment first.

Its strongest role is quick sound exploration for producers who want basses, leads, pads, plucks, keys, and FX with a clear educational angle. Factory presets include short teaching descriptions, and the manual documents practical patch ideas such as acid-style filter movement, drone pads, and noise-based sound design.

The source lead also introduced Thrilled Groove, another Piruz Labs synth, but the automation dataset already contains that product. This artifact therefore keeps the lead to one non-duplicate product page: Synthimatic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Synthimatic different from a normal starter synth?

Synthimatic puts the waveform and spectrum at the center of the interface, so you can see the result of changing oscillators, filter cutoff, envelopes, and modulation. That makes it more useful as a learning instrument than a preset-only synth.

Can Synthimatic make usable production sounds, or is it only educational?

It is designed around education, but the manual and factory preset categories cover practical basses, leads, pads, plucks, keys, and FX. The limited architecture is best for straightforward subtractive patches rather than complex layered sound design.

Does Synthimatic include modulation?

Yes. The manual describes separate amp and filter envelopes, plus one LFO that can modulate pitch, filter cutoff, or amplitude with tempo-synced rates.

Why are the downloads external in this artifact?

The official download buttons currently route through a Piruz Labs email capture page before the file starts. Since the unattended run was artifact-only and could not verify an uploaded R2 object key, the artifact uses the official external download links.
