Description

LS-1173 by Lotus Sound Audio is an analog-style EQ and preamp plugin inspired by the API 550A approach to broad, musical tone shaping. It is built for producers and mix engineers who want quick color moves, gain drive, and simple frequency boosts without opening a full channel strip.

The interface is split into an EQ section and a preamp section. The EQ side covers low, mid, and high tone shaping with an EQ bypass, while the preamp side focuses on drive, output level, and its own on/off switch for adding analog-style saturation before or after tonal changes.

This is not a surgical corrective EQ for hunting narrow resonances. Its strength is fast coloration: adding bite to drums, weight to bass, forwardness to guitars, or extra presence to synths and vocals with a small control set.

The current public Patreon post is accessible for free and includes separate macOS and Windows RAR attachments. Third-party coverage confirms the macOS build is AU/VST3, the Windows build is VST3, and the download sizes are lightweight at about 12.5 MB for macOS and 4.4 MB for Windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LS-1173 more of a surgical EQ or a tone-shaping EQ?

It is better treated as a tone-shaping EQ. The source material and interface point toward broad analog-style boosts, cuts, and coloration rather than narrow corrective resonance work.

What does the preamp section add?

The preamp section gives you a drive control and output level so you can add harmonic color before balancing the final level. It is useful when a source needs extra density, edge, or forwardness without adding a separate saturation plugin.

Does LS-1173 install differently on macOS and Windows?

Yes. The current public attachments are separate RAR downloads for macOS and Windows. Third-party listings show the macOS build as AU/VST3 and the Windows build as VST3.
