Description
Rainsong is a Soundiron Kontakt instrument built from wide-stereo rain recordings, raindrops, thunder, traffic, and forest bird calls. The raw field recordings are paired with one-shot drips and impacts for water-like percussion and sound effects.
Soundiron also created 58 ambient pads, atmospheres, drones, and environments from the source material. These can be played as pads, leads, or plucks, or layered with the field recordings and effects inside the instrument’s four-layer interface.
The Kontakt interface includes swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching, crossfading, and layering. An adaptable LFO, 12 low-pass/high-pass and effects filters, a customizable arpeggiator, and key/scale locking extend the sound-design workflow.
Rainsong is suited to ambient music, film, games, animation, songwriting, and experimental sound design when natural weather recordings need to become playable musical material.
